Backstory: I've been sewing since I was 12 years old and began working in bridal alterations in 2019. Since then I've worked with hundreds of brides and have fallen in love with the wedding industry.
Real Talk: When I started planning my own wedding I quickly realized what an incomparable experience it is. I find that being a nearlywed, especially as a woman, is an intense, emotional, and vulnerable time. In addition to providing quality gown alterations I've also been called a 'bridal therapist' by my clients. The gown alteration process is often overlooked as a strictly utilitarian aspect of wedding planning. I believe that someone who is very literally getting up close and personal with both you and a milestone piece of clothing should be able to connect with you! I truly love my work and client base. As a queer person I am working towards building a wedding industry that welcomes and celebrates everyone.
The Work: I work on wedding gowns only and my entire business structure is built around brides. Many clients find comfort in my focus in this specific work. There's never just one way to make a gown fit! While I always offer my guidance, final say is always yours. My studio offers the comfort of privacy, fittings are just between you, me, and the dress!
Gown Alteration Pricing
I follow a mostly flat-fee pricing structure to take the guesswork out of your alterations process.
$750 - Standard Alterations - Most of my clients fall under this category. This includes taking the gown in/letting it out, adjusting straps, adding bra cups, hemming, and adding a bustle. Basically, just 'making the dress fit' is considered standard alterations!
Additional Costs - While some minor aesthetic adjustments can be covered under Standard Alterations, heavy gown customization is subject to additional fees. This includes making sleeves or straps, removing or extending a train, dramatically shortening a gown, changing necklines, adding lining, etc. I will be able to give you an accurate price at your first fitting.
$200-$400 - Quick Fix Alterations - This is for gowns that need 1 or 2 of the following: Spaghetti Strap Adjustment, Bra Cups, 1-3 Point Bustle, Minor Repair, Minor Hardware Replacement (Incl Hooks, Snaps, Zipper).
Semi-Custom & Vintage Gown Redesign - Pricing varies widely for turning a pre-existing gown into something else. What I can say is that the average cost for these sort of projects I've done in the past is around $1250

Fitting Basics

I recommend your first fitting happen 8-12 weeks before the wedding. If your wedding is further out please reach out early anyway! Even if you aren't coming in right away I can get you in the books, and I do book up in advance. Gowns with first fittings 5 weeks or less before the wedding date (or departure date for destination weddings) will be subject to rush fees determined at the first fitting. I always do a final fitting about 2 weeks before the wedding to ensure a perfect fit as close to your wedding date as possible!

I offer alterations for wedding gowns. If you are getting married and wearing something other than the 'traditional' wedding gown (this includes two-piece sets, jumpsuits, and many other things) and are in need of alterations please feel free to reach out! I do not do alterations for bridesmaids or MOB/G, and I do not alter suits.

You're welcome to bring up to 2 guests with you to your fittings.

You will need your exact shoes at your first fitting if your gown is floor length. If an additional fitting is needed due to forgotten shoes you may be charged.

My studio is located on the 11th floor of the Land Title Building. Take the elevators up and turn right to follow signs for Suite 1140. My door is next to the Optometrist.

The closest parking garage is the Union League around the corner. There are several other garages and street parking nearby. Suburban Station and the Broad Street Line are short walks from the building.
